The city of Lujan, barely forty miles from downtown Buenos Aires, houses the visually and spiritually stunning Basilica de Lujan. The Basilica's elaborate facade is one of Argentina's most recognizable images, with its majestic towers reaching heights of 350-feet. The interior is clearly influenced by the French gothic style, which incorporates a dazzling vitreaux. Every October, hundreds of thousands of people make the pilgrimage towards the basilica from Buenos Aires as a sign of faith and devotion to the Virgin Mary. The construction of this beautiful cathedral spanned a timeframe on nearly fifty years. -Pablo Waldman
