Home to the famous Chase Vault mystery. In the early 1800s, each time the family vault was opened for the burial of another member of the Chase family, the coffins in the vault were found to have moved position. In 1819, then Governor of Barbados, Viscount Combermere, had the positions of the coffins marked with his seal. In 1820, for the next burial, the coffins had moved again. All the coffins were then removed and buried in separate graves.
