Situated on the extreme southwestern point of Cat Island, this small village is a terrific spot for a day trip. The sleepy village contentedly lags behind the pace of the modern world. The sparsely populated area has only one hotel, plus a handful of thatch-roofed homes where the residents live. The primary attraction here is the beach. Few stretches of sand in the Bahamas can boast such ideal conditions for snorkeling and walking. Stroll the coast in complete privacy. If you want to do some historical sightseeing, take a journey through the ruins of nearby Richman-Newfield Plantation.
