There is no actual Chinatown area in Halifax, so this large restaurant gets all the fame with the name. It's 10 minutes out of downtown Halifax, north on the Bedford Highway. A large patio overlooks the Bedford Basin and the restaurant's own dock. The menu tries to cater to all types of Chinese food-lovers, so there are a few hot dishes sprinkled in with your basic deep-fried shrimp and broccoli-beef. The combination platter for two (CAD19.95), which includes egg rolls and soup, is a hefty meal; all portions are generous.
