Located in St-Joachim, about a half hour east of Quebec City, this magnificent gorge carries the Ste-Anne-du-Nord River towards the Saint Lawrence. Hordes of visitors come to view the river from three bridges and numerous other observation sites, key attractions include the Giants' Kettle whirlpool, a 70-metre waterfall, and Cornelius Krieghoff's 1855 painting, Sainte-Anne Falls, which offers an artist's rendering of the gorge before it was modified for running logs. The canyon is a great picnic spot and kids are sure to be enthralled by the rushing water.
