The Musée de la Civilisation, established in 1986, is located in an 18th-century house that has a courtyard, a rowboat, stone wharf, various exhibition rooms, auditorium, historic sites, historic museum and an interpretation centre. Originally an ethnographic museum, the collection now reflects the changes that have taken place in the society and covers major historical, social and philosophical concerns. They have rotational exhibitions, guided tours, and workshops. The exhibitions are all in English and French. There is also the museum boutique in the old vaults of the Estebe House. You can rent the museum for your event which could be a cocktail, conference, or reception etc. In the spring, the museum holds a number of events for the annual Festival de la Bande Dessinée Francophone de Québec.
