Lausanne's Vivarium is on the outskirts of the Sauvabelin woods, which are situated a few minutes walk from the center of Lausanne. The Vivarium shelters one of the largest European collections of live reptiles. You can observe 250 animals from all over the world, representing 116 different species. As well as reptiles (snakes, lizards, geckos, iguanas, varanae) there are scorpions, spiders, tortoises, amphibians, together with fennecs and raptors. They are all kept in conditions resembling their natural environments. The crocodile greenhouse, unique in Switzerland, is a 'must see'.
