The Museo de la Filatelia is located in one of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in downtown San José: the Edificio Central de Correos. This museum encourages children and young people to adopt collecting as a hobby to acquire discipline, observation, and an investigative spirit as well as to gain an interest in the history of the country and of the world. The museum features four rooms of permanent exhibitions where the stamps of Costa Rica, famous for their beauty, can be admired. However, their activities make it one of the most interactive museums around because they feature exchange sessions for collectors and fans, courses, and competitions to select the best stamps from private collections.
