The FIFA World Cup Stadium Hamburg, formerly the Volksparkstadion is one of Germany's most impressive sports arenas. Rebuilt in 1998, it can now seat over 50,000 spectators. The VIP boxes are particularly good for corporate entertainment. The most famous match to have taken place here was the legendary 1974 World Cup duel between West and East Germany. It was the only time that these two teams ever played each other, and, to everybody's amazement, the East Germans won 1-0.
