The beautiful "Old Mill" restaurant is located in a historic building at a little brook connecting the mill pond with the river Alster. A nice spot for a break, as the Alster footpath passes through here. Apart from the dining-room, there is a lovely beer garden with old chestnut trees from which you can see a carp pond. On the menu there is a choice of mixed mainly 'plain cooking' dishes. People from the North can get their herring with fried potatoes here and people from the South their Leberkäse - a Bavarian meat loaf made with mince meat, eggs and spices plus cabbage. Moreover, the Alte Mühle has an excellent wine-list and serves coffee and cake in the afternoons.
