Located on the banks of the Landwehrkanal in Kreuzberg, Medici reached the height of popularity during the 1980's. This was a time when the whole of Kreuzberg was in uproar, with students and left-wingers holding regular street battles with the police. Berlin's yuppies thought it terribly amusing and wonderfully chic to down bottles of Bordeaux and nibble frogs' legs in the centre of all this anarchy. Today, Medici offers good neue deutsche Küche (new German cuisine) and international cuisine to a more mellow clientele.
