This is the largest sports arena in Quito and the country. Throughout the year there is a variable calendar of events at the Estadio Olímpico Atahualpa, including the national soccer championship and other important international events. With a seating capacity for 50,000 fans, it is a traditional structure providing the necessary facilities for national and international broadcasting of sporting events. It has also hosted important concerts by local and foreign bands.
