This site is completely distinct from, and not to be confused, with Saqqara. South Saqqara lies about 11km south of of Saqqara. Founded by 6th Dynasty pharaohs, in about 2345-2181 BC; South Saqqara contains the pyramids of Pepi I, Pepi II, Menere, Queen Neith, and many others. The structure is somewhat similar to the Pyramid of Unas - not particularly impressive outside but elaborately decorated inside. One of the most impressive sights is the Pyramid of Queen Neith, so don't miss that one if you go.
