Open 24 hours, this small restaurant has been serving Zamalek residents since 1922 and has built a reputation on its delicious food and efficient delivery service. Only six small tables and barely enough room at that, the kitchen and deli takes up most of the restaurant. The wooden floors and vintage wall decor have survived a few refurbishings, and the poor ventilation system is very dated. Chefs prepare the food behind a low bar. One of only a handful of restaurants in Cairo serving pork, this is the place to come at 3am for a Venezia (ham, mozzarella and tomato) sandwich. The pizzas are widely acclaimed, and the Quatro Stagioni (green peppers, calamari, mushrooms, olives) is nicely spiced. Choose salads from the deli bar and finish the meal with a slice of mouthwatering cheesecake. A full breakfast of eggs, sausage, croissant, juice and tea or coffee is served until noon. Beer and wine are available, but are not served inside the restaurant.
