A typical traditional Madrid bar since it opened in 1860, Casa Labra is famous for being the birthplace of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party in 1879. It is also famous for serving delicious deep-fried cod fritters in batter along with fresh draught beer. You'll have to take your drinks and tapas standing up at the bar amongst the good-humored multitude doing the same. Or you could also sit down to a full meal in the restaurant.
