There is no dearth of restaurants that serve local cuisine in Barcelona, but each retains its own charm. This one has been around for as long as the locals can remember, and boasts of fresh, hot, home-made food. Dine on specialties like codfish with "sanfaina" and pork feet or the rich fresh fish and cannelloni stews. Veggies come steamed and seasoned in true Catalan style, while the squid fried in batter makes for an irresistible appetizer or mains, as you please. The portions are large enough to keep your tummy from growling for the rest of the evening. Reservations are not accepted and the place is open and welcoming to one and all—the summer terrace is particularly appealing. Go ahead and indulge; the prices are low and there is no formality here!
