Definitely a thumbs up for Auberge du Lac on all aspects, mainly food preparation and presentation as well as the service backing it. The wine list cannot be ignored too, after all there is a long list to choose from. The French flair is maintained in the cooking even though young head chef Phil Thompson is very much British by birth! The setting in the grounds of Brocket Hall couldn't be a better location for the restaurant. If there is any question about the taste of the food served; it can be directed at the celebrities, families and regulars who keep revisiting the place.
