Escape the chaotic London streets to a charming dining room hidden off a busy shopping area for Leith's wonderful Modern British cuisine in plush surroundings. High ceilings, red walls, antique chandeliers, and oil portraits lend an aristocratic intimacy to your dining experience. Don't lament Prue Leith's decision to never pick up a saucepan again, because her legacy lives on. Actually, her seasonal cooking which includes game terrine with chutney, pan-fried calves' liver, and gooseberry syllabub, fits much better with the surroundings here than in her more minimalist chic restaurants in Notting Hill and Soho.
