The Light E1 is a trendy watering hole set in a renovated former electric light station of Great Eastern Railway. The interior has been designed with a contemporary chic facelift though the grime of industry is still evident and with a spacious drinking area there is plenty of room for the eclectic crowd that amasses at the weekend. During the day the ambience is very chilled and the comfy settees are perfect for lounging. Alternatively, there are plenty of wooden tables to crowd around for a good natter. The venue also has a restaurant attached serving sumptuous French and Mediterranean dishes. Clientele tends to sway towards mainstream. -Richard Oldale
