The Ulster Museum is situated next to the Botanic Gardens and within walking distance of Queen's University. This four-floor building covers all aspects of Ulster, from local history, archaeology, antiquities and art, to geology, natural history and technology. The main highlights of the museum include gold and silver jewelery recovered from the wreck of a Spanish Armada ship salvaged off the Giant's Causeway. The top-floor gallery displays paintings by British and Irish artists. Admission is free.
