The arrival of Huguenot refugees in Armagh in the late 17th century brought the linen trade to Ulster, and Belfast quickly gained an international reputation for the very finest damask linen. To this day, the best embroidered linen can be found in Ulster, and this beautiful material makes a perfect souvenir. Smyth's specialize in many excellent linen products, as well as selling other associated Irish paraphernalia such as tea towels, ornaments and clothing. As expected, they also stock good quality postcards from all over Northern Ireland.
