'Terra Nova' was the name of the ship on which Captain Scott set sail for Antarctica from Cardiff docks on 15th June 1910. This excellent bar with the historical name, is right in the heart of the exciting new development of Mermaid Quay and very close to a number of new bars and restaurants, Via Fossa is a large and fashionable bar that offers good ale and food in comfortable surroundings. The decor has a nautical theme and there are lots of big sofas around the place, with newspapers and glossy magazines to flick through. Two large floors, a restaurant upstairs, a smaller crow's nest floor above the first floor and two external balconies provide a huge amount of customer space. The bar menu starts at around £3 for snacks such as ciabatta. A meal in the restaurant will cost around £25.
