Established in 1994, Becketts is is a great place to make friends and hear all the latest gossip. The vast interior is done out entirely in wood with posters from Irish literary events and upcoming sports events in the city. The ceilings are high and there's a fan, which is a bonus as it gets packed and smoky nearly every night. The dining area is separated off by wood partitions but you can also eat while watching the football on television or listening to live bands. The clientele consists mainly of ex-pats and their Hungarian friends. The starters are a mixture of local and international dishes such as stuffed avocado, goulash soup and toasted garlic bread which can all be followed by burgers, steaks, curry and chilli. There's even fish and chips for homesick Englishmen and salads for vegetarians.
