No one has anything bad to say about Josef Bock, the well-known local wine maker and godfather of Bock Bistro. He sells good wines from other cellars as well as his own. Sitting somewhere between a traditional restaurant and a wine bar, Bock is not only popular for its perfect service and snappy gourmet cuisine but for the unique wine ‘take-away' system. If you like the wines you have chosen for dinner from the list of over 200 bottles, you can bring home most of them at retail price. The winter menu includes specialties like marrowbone and the daily specials always deserves a bit of attention as well. If you are planning a long night, go for some tapas and try local wines by the glass. Don't be shocked when they serve you a pot of goose grease with some onion and paprika upon arrival, it is not a joke, it's the traditional Hungarian snack--taste it!
