Live bands play music every evening and the atmosphere is heady and romantic. The tasteful, black wrought-iron chandelier, ageing yellow walls with deliberately scratched paintwork and egg-yellow and cheese-blue Mediterranean tableware all provide a relaxed yet stylish ambiance. The polished wooden sideboard for cruets is a nice touch, as are the black and white polo photos and the selection of paintings and mirrors in gold frames. The Sopa de tortilla is made with tangy tomatoes. The Cuban singed pig with black beans is tempting as are burritos grandes and the vegetable chilli. Naughty puddings include fried bananas. Chilean wine are great, but you can also drink Hungarian Soproni rosé, or sample 22 different kinds of tequila.
