Located on the site of the Crusader Church of St. Mary Latina, the modern building was dedicated in 1898 by Kaiser Wilhelm II. For a small fee, you can climb the 200 steps of the tower for a wonderful view of Jerusalem. Note in particular the ruins of the hospice of the Order of St. John (Hospitallers), who operated a large and innovative hospital for pilgrims during the crusader period. Worship: 9a Su (Arabic and English); 10:30a Su (German); weekday devotions noon (German).
