The annual Scottish Christmas Market in piazza Santa Maria Novella is among the holiday markets not to be missed. This is part of Florence's sister-city program with Edinburgh in the creation of the Settimana scozzese, or Scottish Week. Vendors specialize in Scottish products such as tweeds, tartans, cashmere and golf accessories. If looking for a quick bite, there is plenty of traditional Scottish fare served, like haggis, shortbread (there is usually a Walker's Shortbread stand), whisky, teas, and jams.
