As it has been since ancient times, Trattoria Da Burde is a food store along with restaurant. This particular historical trattoria opened more than one century ago, in 1901, and moved to it's current premises in 1927. It is usually opened only at lunch but could be a good place to eat after having visited the Villa Medicea di Poggio a Caiano, in the area. Traditional Tuscan cooking reigns here! The pecorino cheeses and cold cuts served in the restaurant are also sold in the store and the finocchiona is really worth a try. They serve typical soups with bread, beans, chickpeas, cabbage or farro, followed by all kinds of roasted, boiled or grilled meats.
