If you decide to make an excursion to the nearby Po Delta Natural Park, a huge wetland made by the lagoon, the channels and the sea, you may want to stop at Ai Scalini a small family-run restaurant. Housed in the building of a sluice of the ancient Republic of Venice, the restaurant offers a fresh fish menu that rotates around the "catch of the day". Everything is homemade, from the pasta and bread to the ice cream featuring unusual tastes as liquorice and cinnamon. Also starring on the menu: the eel from the nearby lagoon and the polenta, a traditional dish made from corn flour boiled in salted water and seasoned with cheese, meat sauce or fish. There is also a good selection of Whiskeys, Rums and Grappe Friulane.
