White walls and bare floorboards may sound spartan, but people come here more for the food and excellent wines than the decor, which is elegant in its simplicity. It is mercifully Muzak-free, too. The atmosphere and style is not ultra-formal, though a business lunch could be held here without embarrassment. While the menu is written in neither French nor English, a helpful staff is on hand to guide you. The lunchtime set is very good value: Soup or quiche, main dish of beef, duck, fish or tripe, dessert and espresso.
