This elegant French restaurant, perfect for business or pleasure, is run by Tomoyuki Matsui. Fine food and a good wine list. Both English and French are spoken here, so communication should not pose a problem. Open for lunch and dinner, it attracts an older clientele. The fixed price lunch (JPY3,000) includes 25cl of wine and tea, coffee or tisane. Typical food items: Cassolette d'escargots a la bourguignonne; Mousse de foie blond de volaille; and Epaule d'agneau braise au basilic. For cheese or dessert, add JPY700. Dinner prices start at JPY4,500. Wines on offer include Cotes du Rhone for JPY3,400; Chablis, JPY3,800; and '96 Meursault, JPY6,400. Others: '94 Condrieu JPY8,600; '95 Chateau neuf du pape JPY5,400; '93 Echezeau JPY15,000.
