During the '60s, hippies from around the world gathered here. Famous people (like Dennis Hopper) still put in an appearance now and then. Visitors come today by boat for the views and to hike or horseback ride to the waterfalls. If you want to bring home a piece of the beach and your experience there, you will find a few shops from which you can buy souvenirs. But, don't miss the last boat back to the mainland or you'll be spending the night under the stars.

Yelapa!
It’s a great town to visit. Very rustic and filled with nature. We met an expatriot who has an office near the mouth of the river. His name is Brad and he was a wealth of local knowledge and had many places to stay. I think he was a concierge. His company is palapa in yelapa. You can easily find him on the web. I highly recommend a visit to Yelapa.
