On the barranca (slope) of Huentitán, lies the expansive Guadalajara Zoo. Besides the marvellous view from here, there are 2,000 animals, representing 360 different species to be seen. There is an impressive reptile section, two aviaries, a petting zoo, an area to observe nocturnal species, an interactive museum and a roofed auditorium seating 3,500 people. Either walk the zoo or take the sightseeing train that passes regularly. Stroller rentals, cafés, soda fountains and souvenirs shops are available. The Selva Mágica amusement park is found right next to the zoo, which takes a day in itself to tour.
