Located on the mainland, Xcaret is a 250-acre tourist attraction filled with natural wonders. It closely resembles Disneyland. Guests often stay the entire day to savor the attractions that include an aviary, dolphinarium, turtle sanctuary, Mayan ruins and village, and a beach for diving or snorkeling. To book a tour contact Turismo Aviomar or Intermar Caribe. Xcaret is a 45-ferry ride to Playa Del Carmen, followed by a 20-minute bus ride south. Admission is USD56.

Xcaret practically sponsors tourism in Playa Del Carmen, so you can't throw a rock without hitting a gigantic ad for the place everywhere you look.
