Established in 1984 between Bukit Mertajam and Perai with Malay cooking that complements the ambience of kampong-style setting, Bob Nasi Kampong is especially popular among lunch-seeking office workers. The buffet lunch has a choice of over 20 curried fish, chicken, beef, cuttlefish and prawn dishes; deep-fried fish and chicken; and six types of vegetables. But its main draw is the ikan, ayam and sotong bakar (barbecued fish, chicken & cuttlefish). The fish varieties are terubuk, kembung and pari. At night, nasi kandar takes over with a la carte fried rice, noodles and kueh tiau. Beverages choices include soft drinks.
