The imposing exterior is reminiscent of a Hollywood epic set depicting the grandeur of the Maharajahs. Once inside, the subdued lights emanating from the imported Indian lanterns are bright enough to allow one to see the pillars built by Indian craftsmen. As the retina gets accustomed, the pictures on walls illustrating Indian village life and culture become clearer. Live traditional Indian music is performed on weekends with sitar and abella. Dinner includes an impressive menu from dum pukht style to tandoori and arrives on a banana leaf. Order a mango, pineapple, or banana lasse or resam to complement the your spicy curry, or perhaps white or red wine. Vannakam!
