Of the three fascinating Viking ships on display at the Vikingskiphuset, the Oseberg and the 24-meter (80-foot) long Gokstadship, are in particularly good condition. The ships, which date back some 1100 years, were used as graves for powerful men and women. Lots of ceremonial objects are also exhibited. Check for open hours as timings are seasonal.
