Historic country pub, built in 1905, operated by the anachronistic Geraldine Licensing Trust. Muted, colonial dining-room atmosphere with lead light lamps, small bay windows and a fascinating collection of early Geraldine photographs. The kids play area has a slide, play house and model train. Standard pub grub including roast of the day (NZD7.50), ribeye steak (NZD14) and desserts (NZ4.50). Sunday roasts are good value at NZD14.95 including soup and desert. Kid-sized meals are around NZD5. If you do not mind a lump of hellishly hot rock on your table try a Stone-grill ostrich steak (NZD21.50) or lamb fillet (NZD17.50). Complimentary tea and coffee. Full bar facilities.
