This village is situated way above San Jerónimo. You can get there by footpath or by road, climbing from an altitude of 3,200 meters to 4,000 meters. It´s the first stop for those making the pilgrimage to Señor de Huanca, who is the deity of Apu Pachatusan. A church from the 17th century, corrals for llamas and alpacas, and ceremonial irrigation canals are the main cultural features of Huacoto. Coming to this village is a perfect place for those who like walking and climbing mountains.
