One of the oldest restaurants in Europe, Wierzynek used to be the place for VIPs in Kraków, and it's still a wonderful place to dine. Celebrities including the likes of Steven Spielberg and Kate Moss have dined here. The decor is traditional and formal, with the tables set with several layers of cloth, heavy cutlery and ornate glasses. There are several dining areas to choose from and the atmosphere is subdued and elegant. The restaurant specializes in traditional Polish food, but there is also a fairly comprehensive list of side dishes; so even vegetarians should be able to find a good meal. The wine list is extensive, as is their selection of cocktails. The restaurant opens daily at 1pm and closes when the last guest leaves.
