Sjögräs (which translates as Seaweeds) is one of the most happening joints in Stockholm and is a modern restaurant that serves Californian food. The basement has a nice bar that boasts the largest rum collection in the city. The nights are really crowded and the dance floor is always buzzing with action. Each night has a different DJ performing to packed crowds. If you are on the dance floor, expect to see beer everywhere!

Ninni

Favourite restaurant in Stockholm

(Rating: 5) by Ninni on February 17, 2009

A wonderful restaurant on the southside of Stockholm. Not very big but about 40 seats with an open kitchen were you can hear the chefs chatting on about the food and laughing. They always seems to be in a great mood. And it shows on the food they serve. The food is exellent and at a very reasonably price. A bit of french bistro but with very workedthru plates and lots of innovative thinking aswell. Examples of starters are "Pieces of the Atlantic ocean" served in an old sardine can. It´s made out of lobster, oysters, sea-urchins and other tasty stuff from the sea. For entres the best is "the saddle of venison" They offer a few "funny" different courses aswell like baked pettitoe (pigsfoot) a old swedish traditional course and on the new menu (spring 2009) they also offer a 19th century soup from France (Normandie) made on cowstomach cooked for 18 hours in Cider. Actually tastes really great! After the dinner you have to make sure to taste their rum assortments. They have among the biggest and best in northern Europe. I´ve heard they offer rum tastings aswell. For the last year they have recieved a number of good rewievs in the papers. And 2008 they were nominated by the paper "Dagens Nyheter" to the golddraggon award.
