Surin is a popular weekend spot, long visited by locals. The beach is long and uncluttered, with a beautifully grassed picnic area shaded by casuarina trees. This area is proving especially popular for family barbeques. Bring your own treats or sample from local vendors' satays and pancakes. Good for a day visit for swimming and snorkelling in high season: in low season care must be taken, as the surf can be rough and tides quite strong.
