This world-famous museum is rather a zoo displaying the creatures of the surrounding desert in their natural habitats. Located in the middle of the Sonoran desert about a half an hour drive from the city center, it also provides breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The gift shop has an excellent selection of Sonoran desert souvenirs. This is a must for any visitor staying in Tucson for more than just one day. Check website for operation hours.

Foodlover

Worth a Visit

(Rating: 4) by Foodlover on August 12, 2009

I have been here a total of three times in two years. I enjoy this place. If you like to walk along and view various live animal you'll like it too. Understand that Tucson is always hot during the summer months, however, this time of year the park has evening hours. Either go real early, or later in the evening it's less hot. I forget the cost but I know it's fairly reasonable.

top notch museum

This is by far the best Tucson has to offer. It has history, a zoological nature as well as a museum.
