This tour explores Balboa Park's natural side and takes place every Saturday morning for one hour. Tour themes include Balboa Park's history, palm trees, other trees in the park, desert vegetation, and the tour del dia. Trained volunteers, who are also horticulturalists, lead the one hour tours. During one tour, guides discuss the differences between the Moreton Bay Figs, Fiddle Leaf Figs, and more. During another tour, guides talk about the history of the various palm trees, such as the Mexican Palm and Everglade Palm. Each tour consists of different experiences, since no two consist of the same group of people or questions; though, each tour will leave visitors with a new appreciation for Balboa Park's natural beauty. Call ahead for tour schedule.
