This locally-loved restaurant is well worth the quick, scenic trip to the little city of Alpine. Massive boulders, tall pines and a running stream surround the outside patio, warmed by heat lamps on chilly evenings. Okay, so, these features have been added to the middle of a little shopping mall, but you will not mind. Breakfasts are big, featuring items like Country-Fried Steak and Eggs. Lunches offer the signature "Bread Basket," filled with chili or other delicious items. Dinners provide one of the last and best Fried Chicken meals in the county. It opens daily from 7a.
