This unpretentious diner is a favorite with Julian locals and tourists, usually with a long line of waiting customers trailing down the steep stairs. The building itself is old, lined with a narrow veranda. The inside has minimal diner decor, with seating in vinyl booths or at tiny tables. For lunch, try the famous Buffalo Burger. The Mountain Man plate is the best value, providing a half-pound Buffalo Burger with cheese, grilled onions and seasoned French fries. Sandwiches are also available and of course, there is apple pie for dessert.
