People have been flocking to the sleepy little beach community of Half Moon Bay since the '60s to celebrate all things pumpkin during this festival. You can sample pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin crepes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin candy, and, well, you get the idea. There are also arts and crafts booths, many with a pumpkin theme, as well as pumpkin carving exhibitions, a haunted house and great live music. Acres of pumpkin patches surround the town, and the town is entirely charming in itself. Admission is free for this annual October tradition.

One of the best times of year in Half Moon Bay!
The weather in Half Moon Bay during this time is absolutely perfect--a little late summer sun, with warm (but not hot) temperatures. You can easily stroll down Main Street sampling food, checking out the crafts, and viewing the events like pumpkin carving.
