Sixty miles east of Tampa on the highest point of land on the peninsula lies the Historic Bok Sanctuary. Named a National Historic Landmark, the gardens offer a wildlife observatory, endangered plant exhibit, woodland garden and butterfly and bird watching. The highlight of this magnificent cultivated area is the bell tower, housing one of the world's great carillons. Fifty-seven bronze bells entertain visitors with daily concerts. The lush gardens were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.
