Billed as the "best breakfast in the world", the Lighthouse Café is a casual, often crowded, restaurant catering to the eclectic Sanibel Island crowd. The walls are lined with pictures of lighthouses, some donated by patrons. Breakfast is served until 3p. You can have an omelet or a frittata, or the famous Granola Nut Hot Cakes, served with sliced bananas and warm maple syrup. For lunch, try the Seafood Griddle, with shrimp, scallops and crabmeat sautéed and served on a croissant, followed by Key Lime Pie. The restaurant is non-smoking.
