Both the ambience and the food keep Fornetto's rather packed. The menu, which is a melange of Italian and Asian fare, offers nothing out of the ordinary but all dishes are made to perfection. The Cured Salmon Carpaccio, Barbecued Clams with Pork and Short-Rib Risotto are recommended. However, its thin-crust pizzas are the reason most guests return—these include the Italian Sausage Pizza and the Roman-style Gorgonzola Pizza with Yukon Gold Potatoes. The wine and dessert lists are just as impressive. This restaurant is a good pick for an intimate and relaxed meal right here at the Whitehall Hotel.
